Opportunity to visit this part of the world came unexpectedly to me. But when it did come, I took it, half of me resisting , the other part adventurous – curious. So one fine morning, I jumped into the flight to Dubai and then the connecting flight took me into the heart of the Arabian nights..
Many of the people from outside this beautiful country have very different thoughts about this place. However, in my short span of stay, I came to experience a very different country. Bright and generous, calming and exciting at the same time. 🙂
Marhaba! 🙂 (Hello! or “Namaste!” as we say in my part of the country )
The country :
Saudi Arabia, officially known as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), is an Arab state in Western Asia constituting the bulk of the Arabian Peninsula. It is the only nation with both a Red Sea coast and a Persian Gulf coast. The country has some of the most modern cities to date, with Riyadh being the largest and some rather interesting barren and desert like landscapes. It is a land of deep routed culture, of beautiful people and ancient architecture dating back to 1 st century AD.
There are several flights from Dubai to Riyadh. Riyadh is otherwise VERY well connected to other part of the world as well.
This is a tough one. Until a few years ago, there was no scope for tourist visa for Saudi Arabia. But off late, the tourism is being promoted and there is a scope to get tourist visas, however, the Tourism development department website can be checked with / contacted for more clarification in this regard.
