Getting Leh ed : Magnetic hill and Confluence of Indus and Zanskar rivers

Enroute, we stop at Magnetic Hill. This place is situated around 30 Kms from Leh, in Leh – Kargil – Srinagar highway. It is popular among tourists as the surrounding landscape provides an illusion of the cars drifting upwards without power.

Illusion… 🙂

We saw a person coming down from a dirt road in a motorcycle. Wish I could ride! 😀

Then it’s time to stop at the confluence of Sindhu and Zanskar rivers. It is a spectacularly beautiful site to behold! The greens of Zanskar meeting the greys of Sindhu amongst the towering mountain silences even the most chatty traveler to behold the scene. This place is known as Sangam by the locals.

We want to stay here, just for a few more minutes, but just as life is, the travel too takes us away from this place, as we drift further with the meandering road towards our next destination…
